Bangkok Trip 2014 [The Japalang Post] [All Days]

HELLO! This is my first post of 2014. I flew to Bangkok on the second day of the new year with Pat. We stayed there from 2nd January to 6th January [5 days] because we don't want our itinerary to end up as packed as our previous trips.

Initially both of us were quite worried that it would be unsafe for us to go Bangkok due to the anti-government protests and rallies going on then. However, things were not as bad as we thought it would be. In fact, it's actually quite safe, as long as you avoid areas with the protests.

I exchanged 400 SGD [10,000 Baht ++] intending to splurge all of the assets there. Most of you who had been to Bangkok would probably know that shopping and eating there is really affordable. Pat and I literally went crazy shopping, shopping and shopping all day.

Places we went:

Chatuchak Weekend Market - I've read reviews that the place is scorching hot, especially during the noon when the sun is high above in the sky. But on the day we went, it was only around 22 degrees and shopping at CTC was a 'no sweat'.

Platinum Fashion Mall - Giant fashion mall, just make sure you bring enough money to grab your loots.

Siam Square - Lots of pretty & affordable stuff there too!

Pratunam Morning & Night Market Things sold in the market are relatively cheaper as compared to those sold in the malls. However, I have to admit that I have difficulties waking up early in the morning just to go to the morning market. Soooo.. Pat went alone while I'm stuck in the cozy bed. Hehehe.

Big C Supermarket - WOW is the word to describe the place. I love this place! Pat and I spent a total of 70 SGD buying snacks back. So can you imagine how much food we bought there?

Terminal 21 - A really unique mall with different themed countries for each floor. Good place to camwhore. Thumbs up!

Central World - Nothing much there actually. LOL. At least to me.

Maeklong Railway Market - Let the photos do the talking instead.

Damnoen Floating Market - Let the photos do the talking too.

At the railway market - locals setting up little stalls along the railway track.
The train would pass through the market 8 times a day.
When the train passes through, these stall owners would have to move their stuff in and make way for the train.
At the floating market, whereby goods are sold from boats

That's us! HEHEHEHE. The boat ride took about 30 minutes. Frankly speaking,
I didn't really enjoyed myself during the ride because I was PARANOID and AFRAID that the boat would capsize.
每次想太多 LOLOL. Furthermore,
the weather got a bit humid halfway through the ride and I started complaining about the heat. :P
Coins for the airport rail link and cards for the skytrain. These cards resemble those that Singapore had in the past.
At Terminal 21 - We are tourists. Yes we are. ^^
We could have gotten more stuff there in Bangkok actually.
PS: Pat loves the hand made minion door mat so much that she told me it's her best loot from the trip.
有这么喜欢吗? HAHAHAH.
Okay lah at least it's unique. Oh yeah, the larb flavored pretz snack is soooooo nice! Love it ~
That's the end of the japalang post.
Till next time.
