I'm a blessed girl #02 ♥

This is going to be a short post.

A few days ago, Jax, Lyn and I met for dinner after school. It was a birthday treat and we decided to eat at one of the many coffee shops in Jurong East. It's been quite a while since I last hang out with my beloved cousins. We didn't manage to catch up with one another during the recess week because all of us had busy schedules. So I was really glad that this time round, all of us managed to find a common time to dine together. Weeheeee~

3 Pax 5 Dishes, let the photos do the talking now! Yum yum yum.
 (。◕‿◕。)

Chili crab for the cousins

Hotplate eggplant

My favorite - prawn paste chicken wings. I would order this dish almost everytime I eat at a Tzechar stall

Big fat toasted buns to go along with the chili crab

Braised egg tofu with a mix of veges
Till next time!

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY TO ME! :D (The actual date is on the 12th) Unlike the past few years in which I celebrated the actual day outside with my friends, I decided to stay home this year and celebrate with my family instead. Nothing much, just a simple dinner filled with love. And this year, I had three different birthday cakes, or should I say I ate three different slices of cake. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Ps: I forgot to take photo of the strawberry yogurt cake which Celes bought for me. (╥﹏╥)

Anyway the story goes like this: We were shopping in town the other day and I randomly mentioned that I've yet to make any birthday wishes for the year. So halfway through our shopping, she told me that she needa go to the toilet and tell me to continue shopping alone first. When she's back from the toilet, we resumed our shopping and she treated me dinner. Soon it was time to go home and she offered to accompany me home since we stay rather near to each other. I was like "Whoa, so nice of you today!" Being a nice person too, I invited her up my house for a drink, and all of a sudden, she brought up the cake, sang the birthday song and asked me to make my wishes. Hehehe so sweet of her right. ♥‿♥

Shall share some photos!

Cute mommie bought this small squarish angry bird chocolate cake for me: "小小意思,生日快乐"
A very simple piece of strawberry cheesecake from Jax and Lyn < (^^,) >
Pretty little watch which I love so much weeheee. Thank you pat tiny-smileys-yesemoticons-061

On the actual day, Pat sent someone to deliver a 52" Mickey Mouse Airwalker to my doorstep. It was gigantic - confirm must have cost her a bomb. She was told by the salesperson that the airwalker balloons can stay inflated and "float around" for about a week. I am glad that the they are still pretty much inflated even till today (although slightly wrinkled on mickey's face hahahah) I tried taking photo with the balloon but it failed terribly... So no photos of me with the balloon. v_v

A very huge mickey mouse airwalker. So tall and ithe balloons are touching my ceiling  (`ー´ლ)

Anyway, I felt really blessed to be able to spend my birthday with people whom I love and love me. That's the best gift in the world. ♥

It's mid-autumn !

HELLO ALL! The mid-autumn festival is just round the corner! (tomorrow to be specific ) This year, mom bought two big boxes of traditional mooncakes from China Angel 安琪. I've never heard of this brand before and so I googled it last night: China Angel is a Shenzhen-based mooncake maker and apparently, it's one of the top few popular brands in China and Hong Kong.

Despite the rise of snowskin mooncakes, jelly mooncakes and mooncakes with exotic fillings, our family still prefers the traditional lotus seed paste ones. I especially love those with the salty duck egg yolks.  d(♥‿♥)Single egg yolk/double egg yolks will do, because you won't want to spend $10 plus eating a mooncake filled mainly with cheap egg yolks right. Hahahaha.

Anyway, when I was a kid, I always look forward to celebrating mid-autumn, though I called it the "mooncake festival" instead. This is because mid-autumn festival means I can get to eat mooncakes and play with candles (the only time in which I am allowed to play with candles ). Now that I'm older, playing with candles no longer interest me that much. However, I still appreciate the tradition of eating mooncakes(ღ˘◡˘ღ)

That's all for today. Happy mid-autumn everybody!

JJ Lin's Autograph Session @ Compass Point

HELLO PEEPS! Last Friday after school, Pat and I attended JJ Lin's Autograph Session @ Compass Point. I was held back in school and we reached the place rather late (we reached around 6.30pm, and the event starts at 7:30pm). There was quite a huge crowd and we immediately joined the queue. ٩(-̮̮̃•̃)

Pat kept telling me how excited she is for JJ's concert. I am not a fan of JJ Lin, but I've promised her to attend his concert together because she accompanied me to Wilber's concert two months back. Nonetheless, I do look forward to the concert, especially with the "man-made rain" segment and gear wheel piano. Shall share the photos here! (◜௰◝)

That's all for the post!

From the world above “Cars”, descends “Disney’s Planes”!

HELLO! Have you guys watched the comedy-adventure sports film "Cars" before? It was released by Walt Disney Pictures in 2006, and at that point of time, I was only 13. I was really young then and hence didn't have the opportunity to catch the movie at the theatres (though I did manage to watch the movie years later). After a long 7 years, here comes the next comedy-adventure sports film by Disney - "Planes".

From the world above "Cars", descends "Disney's Planes"! This time, come meet several very remarkable planes full of personality and enter their stories of friendship, courage and action as they take you around the world with a few laughs along the flight!

"Disney's Planes" features Dusty, a good-natured, fast-flying crop duster who dreams of competing in the most exciting round-the-world air race in history. However there is just one big obstacle in his way - Dusty is afraid of heights!

Despite this huge problem, Dusty slowly but surely succeed with the help of his good friends. You will enjoy meeting the many characters of different nationalities, talents and temperaments as the air race kickstarts. Of course, success does not come without any hiccups, especially when the defending champion Ripslinger feels threatened by Dusty's presence and will do anything to ensure Dusty fails.

Join Dusty as he pursues his dreams of competing as a high-flyer air racer and begins a journey of his lifetime! Watch how his courage is put to the test as he reaches heights he never dreamed possible, inspiring a spellbound world to soar and reach for their dreams!

Cartoons are not meant just for kids. Some random thoughts striked me while I was glancing through the gist of the story. Dusty faced several obstacles in his life - he was mocked for being a mere crop duster, he was afraid of heights and was discouraged from joining the race. However, he wasn't demotivated and was determined to show his worth. In the end, he made it of course. Life isn't as simple as ABC. We have the ability to choose and lead the way of life that we want. When others look down on you, you can be like how Dusty did. On the other hand, you can give in to criticizms and allow others to continue looking down on you. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Oh yeah, good news here! You can also stand to win Planes movie passes and exclusive premiums by joining the "Say it with planes" facebook contest. (what's that? ) It's as simple as sending your facebook friends a personalized message! That's it!

So are you looking forward to taking flight with Dusty and the other racers? I certainly do! Anyway, if you haven't watched the trailer, here it is:

Catch "Disney's Planes" in Singapore cinemas this 5 September 2013! For more updates, like the Official Walt Disney Studios Singapore Facebook Page follow @disneystudiosSG and subscribe to the Official Disney Studios Singapore YouTube Channel!

Celebrating Pat's birthday with a polaroid camera!

Hey all! Wonder how's your short Hari Raya + National Day holidays! I spent one day celebrating Pat's birthday and the next day on a combined birthday celebration for Pat (yes again, very  ♕ right hahaha) and Kennix. But we didn't take much photos on the second day, so I shall just post about the solo birthday celebration instead. ヅ

Present for the birthday girl~   tiny-smileys-yesemoticons-072

I spent weeks pondering over what present to get for Pat. Watch, wallet, etc. Couldn't think of a present that she would like most. Lastly, the idea of a polaroid camera struck me. PS: The colour of the card resembles that of the camera  tiny-smileys-yesemoticons-067
It was a really simple celebration though. We started off having a late lunch at HIJUMI Japanese restaurant. I remember seeing long queues outside the restaurant when it first began its business. Is it because they serve good food? Or is it because the price is worth the taste? I believe it's a mixture of both. Since then, I've been wanting to find time to try out the food there.

We ordered one set of the chicken soup curry set. This is the display set . At first, I was a little bit skeptical, thinking how could it be $13.90 for so much food. "Must be because the food  is served in small portions one lor!"  But NOPE. The serving size was decent ت
In fact, we are entitled to unlimited  scoops of appetizers! It's worth the price!  tiny-smileys-yesemoticons-010
We were quite full from the lunch and decided to roam around town. As expected, town was flooded with many many people. You'll see large crowds almost every where you go, specifically during weekends and public holidays. I bought myself a pair of heels (finally) which I need to wear during my upcoming presentations. Hours later, the tam jiak  us decided to head into a restaurant and grab some food again. Eating eating & more eating, but this time meddling with the new camera too. (◜௰◝)

That's all for the post. ✿ܓ

Sakae Sushi + PlayNation!

Serene and I went out yesterday, intending to eat a simple lunch before shopping around Orchard Road. Yet, we ended up with a totally different plan (the title suggests it all). ت

Initially, we wanted to try out a burger cafe which Serene mentioned. It was supposed to be at Scape, but we couldn't find it. Probably it had closed down or that Serene had gotten the details wrong. Since we couldn't find the cafe and didn't want to waste any more time, we decided to just settle for a meal at Sakae Sushi. Despite the lunch hour, it was not a big crowd at the restaurant. I still remember during our JC days, our clique would always hop down to Sakae Sushi (particularly the Scape outlet because it's not very crowded) after school and indulge in the sushi buffet. I was expecting the price of the sushi buffet to have increased to $20++, but when we checked out the price at the counter, both of us were so surprised that the buffet is still priced at the same price two years back!  ✌.(ʘ‿ʘ).✌

Our favourite! That's two servings instead one. Both of us ordered the same red plate dish and the staff decided to serve them on the same plate

Since it's under green plate, it means that we could have an unlimited amount of them! This is for two servings as well. We ordered 3 plates of such servings

Also an unlimited amount of side dishes! Photo shows two servings too. Yum yum yum~  ʘ‿ʘ
Remember: some plates serve two servings instead of one. Hence this does  act as an accurate measurement of our appetite. But I have to admit that we could have eaten more like how we did previously
Oh yeah, each of us is entitled to one bowl of udon and ice cream too. The buffet cost us less than $20 each, a rather reasonable price for a casual Japanese sushi restaurant.

As we left the place, we saw PlayNation which is just opposite the restaurant and so I suggested this to Serene:  " 要不要进去玩?" Since it's only $8.50 ++ for a 4 hour gaming session and that Serene had never been there before, why not? It's my 3rd time there and all 3 visits left hilarious memories for me. All were filled with laughter and judging of one another. HAHAHAHA no harm intended though. So we tried the wii, kinect and xbox.

Played the following games:
Marvel Vs Capcom
Raving Rabbids
Just Dance
Super Mario

Marvel Vs Capcom. Serene and I kept laughing during the game, "condemning" each other's characters. Don't judge us, we aren't crazy people  .

Ending the post with our photo. PS: my smile looks awkward  (✖╭╮✖)

That's all for the day!

Just some random blabbering - Time flies

My 3 months of holidays are coming to an end soon, which also means that school's starting in no time. The upcoming semester definitely poses as a challenge for me, especially since I have to juggle well between excelling in schoolwork, giving private tuitions and pursuing leisure. As the semester progresses, I would be flooded with projects, projects and more projects, reports, reports and more reports. It's a cycle that happens every semester and I guess I am kinda used to it already. ب_ب

So, what have I done during the past 3 months of holidays? A lot. I've been on 3 overseas trips. I've watched 2 concerts. I've taken up several new tuition assignments. I've caught up with several friends whom I haven't met for a period of time. I've popped by Pat's clinic and helped her out as a dental assistant. Life's relaxing yet fulfilling. In fact, I feel that I've made good use of my 3 months of holidays.

Now that the good times are coming to an end, I shall start packing up my holiday mood and prepare for what's waiting for me. I always believe in working hard and playing hard. Life is not about prioritizing work or play. It's about maintaining a balance between the two. When it's time to let your hair down, just do so and indulge in the enjoyment. However, when it's time to get serious, please do, though I admit that occasionally I might be distracted by bits and pieces when supposed to be studying. (◜௰◝) Nonetheless, I still strive and hope to strike a work-life balance. I'm a little looking forward to embark on the start of the new semester actually. Hope it's a smooth sailing one.  Weeeee~

Wilber Pan "Unleashed" World Tour Singapore 2013

Following our previous concert in Genting Highlands, Pat and I went to watch Wilber Pan "Unleashed" World Tour Concert held last Saturday. Pat bought a pair of Cat 2 tickets and treated me to watch the concert together with her. So niceeeee right! Thank you thank you! ♥‿♥

Despite us buying the Cat 2 tickets, we were very near to the extended stage and enjoyed upclose interaction with the singer. Sadly to say, Pat and I weren't really familiar with his songs. But it was still a good and entertaining show. I love the song 二十四個比例 and some other slow songs like 寂寞出租 and 轉機. Hehehe.

PS: Credits to Pat for taking these beautiful photographs.

Wilber's concert lets go!

The Taiwanese singer kick start the concert with the song 'Release Yourself'

I find this effect so cool! Don't you think so? ó‿ó

Fans screaming their lungs out as Wilber bent forward to shake the hands of some lucky fans

The concert ended off with the party rock anthem
