Taiwan Trip 2013 Day 8 & Hong Kong Trip Day 1

Day 1 and 2 itinerary can be found here.
Day 3 itinerary can be found here.
Day 4 to 7 itinerary can be found here.

Day 8 marked the end of our Taiwan trip and the beginning of our Hong Kong trip. We traveled to Taichung Airport via E-go bus (for more information click here) and from there we took Hong Kong airlines to Hong Kong. It was a sweet, short 1 hour plus of flight.

Upon reaching Hong Kong, Pat and I took a cab down to Cosmo Hotel, where we would be staying there for the rest of our nights in Hong Kong. It's not cheap to take a cab in Hong Kong. The 15 minutes ride from the airport to our hotel cost us 230 HKD, which is about 36 SGD. I stayed in Rosedale Hotel on my last trip to Hong Kong in December 2012. Cosmo Hotel is located right beside Rosedale Hotel, within 10 minutes of walking time to the nearest station - Olympic Station. Both hotels provide good customer service, and are of similar rates.

We stayed in this hotel for the next 3 nights
On our first day in Hong Kong, we went to the famous Ladies Street. We took the complimentary hotel shuttle bus and arrived in Langham Place, Mongkok. Those who had been to Ladies Street would be aware of the unique culture there. Sellers would mark up their prices while buyers would have to bargain for the best purchase. The sellers there are rather aggressive in pushing their products. It might be quite hard for you to reject them as they would cling on to you, insisting that you should purchase their products. Pat and I had great fun (actually) there bargaining with the sellers and getting our desired items at a really low price. We bought two Marc Jacobs inspired iPhone casings at 40 HKD each, translating to about 6 SGD each. Pat bought two scarfs for her colleagues, at a price of 8 SGD per piece. It was a very good buy, considering the quality of the scarfs. Other stuff that we bought that night include a pair of watches, earpiece and some tops.
